Introduction:Indian Dry Fruits Ltd. (IDFL) was incorporated on July 15, 1980, by Gopal Mewawala, Srinivas Thakkar, and Atul Jindal as 'Indian Dry Fruits Private Limited'. On April 1, 1997, it was converted into a public limited company and a fresh certificate of incorporation was issued on July 11, 1997, under the name of IDFL. IDFL manufactures and exports processed and preserved food products like dry fruits, pickles, and jams and sells its products under the brand names, 'Kumar' and 'Mom's Recipe' in India. In the Middle East, it sells pickles and tamarind through its premium brand 'Camily' and a popular segment brand 'Superb', and in the UK under the brand name 'Krishna'. It has an installed capacity of 22,900 tonnes per annum (tpa) for canned and bottled processed vegetables/foods/fruits. IDFL completed the expansion and modernization of its existing plant at Jeedimetla, Hyderabad, in the financial year 1996, thus increasing its capacity from 12,600 tpa to 19,900 tpa. A new project for manufacturing spices in Nasik was also commissioned in FY96.
